English born writer and journalist Claire Scobie is author of the acclaimed Last Seen in Lhasa. She teaches writing workshops across Australia, mentors writers and appears at international literary festivals as a speaker and facilitator. In September 2010 she was on ABC TV’s First Tuesday Book Club in a travel writing special. In May 2011 the Sydney Morning Herald ran a story about how Claire’s mentoring helped one writer, Elizabeth Linstead, to publishing success. A year later, Growing Old Outrageously was published by Allen & Unwin. On March 31st 2012, Last Seen in Lhasa was launched as an e-book on Kindle. Claire is currently studying at the Writing and Society Research Group at the University of Western Sydney. She is working on two new books, a novel and a second travel memoir. She lives in Sydney with her husband Aden.
